Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we’ve got 15 fun and kid-friendly craft ideas perfect for your youngsters at home. Happy crafting!

1. Thankful Book

Supplies:

  • A few sheets of different colored paper (including white paper)
  • Three paper lunch bags
  • Stapler
  • Glue
  • Pencil
  • Marker

Directions:

  1. Grab a few sheets of the colored paper and turn them over so the top is facing downward. Sketch a feather shape, then cut it out. Stacking the paper allows you to cut out a few feathers at once.
  2. Fold the three paper bags in half then staple the edge to create a book.
  3. Turn the book over and glue the feathers onto the back of it. Next, take any scraps of paper to cut out features for the turkey’s face. For the eyes, cut two circles out of white paper and draw on pupils with a marker. Glue the turkey’s face onto the front of the book.
  4. Finally, write everything you’re thankful for this season inside your book!

2. Leaf Turkey

Supplies:

  • Brown, white, orange, and red paper
  • 4-5 leaves
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Directions:

  1. Start by going outside and gathering 4-5 leaves for your turkey’s feathers. Fall leaves in the colors red, orange, and yellow make pretty feathers.
  2. Sketch the turkey’s body on brown paper and cut it out.
  3. Cut out a beak, feet, eyes, and the snood (the red dangly part on a turkey’s face!).
  4. Glue the turkey’s feet onto a sheet of white paper, then begin assembling the rest of it by adding the body, beak, snood, and eyes. After you’ve placed the turkey where you want it, begin gluing leaves around it for its feathers!
